Showcase begins tomorrow.
Any insight as to who the "Star" team will be?
Any predictions on a Cinderella team?
The Flyers will be webcasting their games from sin city. http://www.valenciaflyers.net/
Best of skill to all!

I'll throw in the Bombers. They're playing some decent hockey. Bakersfield? Was their game against Valencia a fluke or have they found some magic? Don't know anything about the Midwest. It'll be interesting to see their teams.

Can't believe I'm writing this but looks like the Flyers are having some issues. Did not look good at all against the Gulls last weekend.

I vote for Fresno and the Rhinos. Anyways I wonder if Fresno will be able to recruit even some better players with the recent announcements.

Watched the Fresno/El Paso game this morning online....Very good game throughout...El Paso broke it open late in the game winning 4-1. Tremendous respect to the Monsters they are a solid team. Out of curiosity, do these games count in the standings much like last year?

Oh Brudda (there for art thou)- What announcement did I miss about Fresno? I'm aware of the NAHL buzz. It's refreshing to see the Monsters come in at their rookie year being on top. Yes, I heard the rumors as to how many of the players were attracted to this team. There could be a payoff.
Rhino100- Welcome back to the jungle drums! ELP is doing well as always.
Scores of the WSHL look like this outing is very exciting. No fatal numbers as of yet.

Here's the announcement out of Fresno...the actually have a player that is paying dues to play there.

El Paso looks pretty good. Some real level play in the city of Sin at the showcase. How fitting that the Rhinos proved their point in defeating the team full of empty promises in the city of broken dreams.

Boulder looks decent with their Norpac filled roster. They could be a dark horse to give the Rhinos a run. I doubt it but they have improved a lot since the beginning of the season.

Phoenix just isn't as deep as they were in year's past. Too bad the lumber yard isn't in the scholarship business anymore. Hoody is now having to actually coach what he has instead of merely opening the gate.

San Diego is making a decent stand heading into the second half. It is good to see them step it up over he past couple of seasons. They have surprised me so far. A couple of close losses and a game they could have won. They could be a team to shock someone in the first round.

Valencia is proving to be a one-year wonder. Last season, they had Chris Hartly come in from Eugene (Norpac) and take that team to it's best regular season in history and put it within one game of the nationals. Senor Perez repaid him with a swift kick in the face and demoted him to assistant to a former NHLer with little experience coaching. No offense to the new coach as he didn't do it but the owner showed what most already about him.

Tulsa is hot and cold. They seem to have improved with their new coach but they have been inconsistent of late. Depth is an issue for them.

So far a really good showcase from a competitive standpoint. Pitting the divisions top teams against each other is a good idea.

Awesome showcase. SP I was talking about the NAHL rumors as the announcement was on the NAHL web. If I was a player I would want to be part of an organization that has an NAHL team. It works out East for some junior organizations to have several tiers under one roof. Yes Tulsa is hot and cold. It is interesting wonder how their goalie situation is or is it defense.

Okay, put a major "DUH" on me. Shame on me for not reading the NAHL website. 2 teams in Fresno? Not that big of a city to support a fan base. Folk$ would have to choo$e which games to attend. To be sure the East has plenty of players to house more than 1 team under the same roof, then again the reason for creating Tier IIIA? The east couldn't get the fans in the stands to financially support NAHL or USHL.

No Duhs allowed; So who won the showcase? Com on all opinions appreciated. I think my two original picks did well but I believe there was no clear cut winner. Also if I am not mistaken no one went undefeated but I could be wrong but then again who cares if I am.
