Ok, lets see who wants to pick'em. I miss the days of old here on the chatties when we bantered hard with the the likes of Ms. Kitty and friends. Heck, I so much as type and the threads come to an end. We need some healthy sparring on here.

Friday 10/30
Butte @ Bozeman- Boz
Missoula @ Billings- Bil
Yellowstone @ Helena- Hel
Eugene @ River City- Eug
Tri City @ Rogue Valley- Tri

Saturday 10/31
Billings @ Bozeman- Boz
Missoula @ Butte- Mis
Helena @ Yellowstone- Hel
Puget Sound @ Seattle- Sea
River City @ Eugene- Eug
Tri City @ Rogue Valley- Tri

Sunday 11/1
Butte @ Missoula- Mis
Puget Sound @ Seattle- Sea

Home teams win 8, road teams win 5. Big home and home weekend for Hel/Yel, But/Mis and RC/Eug. It's always interesting to see how teams travel and play in these series. Come on y'all lets get to pickin.

I'll take a shot at this but see a few upsets!

Fri 10/30
Butte @ Boseman-Boz
Missoula@Billings-Mis
Yellowstone@Helena-Yel
Eugene @ Rivercity-Eugene
Tri City @ Rogue Valley-Tri

Saturday 10/31
Billings @ Bozeman-Bill
Missoula @ Butte-Mis
Helena @ Yelowstone-Yel
Pujet Sound @ Seattle-Sea
River City @ Eugene-Eugene
Tri City@ Rogue Valley-RV

Sunday 11/1
Butte @ Missoula-Mis
Pugent Sound@ Seattle- Sea

Yellowstone down with the flu last meet/lets see what they can do this time.
Butte won a few last year and I think Rogue Valley will also and catch Tri sleeping.
Boseman will come off an easy win with Butte and not be ready for Billings. Saw Billings play and they can play if they are hungry enough!

I do miss the rankings on this forum as it did offer some controversy and insight to what the other teams were doing.

Pick em huh? This season I have seen sooooooo much bad hockey that it is hard to define an upset. Needless to say, lets stir it up!

Friday night
The Roughriders vs The Dogs- The Dogs in a runaway, no questions asked. Butte can only save face for the first 50 shots put on Adamo then the 2nd period begins and the lights go out

Ol' Miss at the Bulls- The bible thumping Maulers will lose to Billings. Question fer ya; If you hide behind god how can you be such a jackass in the stands in other peoples barns. Get off your soapbox and realize that you are not all that.

The Ft. Van YellowQuakes vs Helena- Game of the night no doubt but the mighty Horns will get them in the end.

Eugene vs River City- As much as I want to pull for the Swede and company I just have to think that the Bath House Boys will take them.

Tri Cities vs Rogue Valley- Rogue wins another unless Doubrava can find a way.

Saturday
Bulls vs Bozeman- Bozo wins and ex-Totem Ballenger serves notice Seattle style

Missoula Janitors vs Butte- Ya, whatever, Missoula in a snoozefest. BTW- are all of the Maulers on the janitorial payroll? Hmmmmm..... can't wait for the audits to begin

Bighorns in Cody- Tight game, the Quakoneers will try and intimidate on home ice but until they pay for a real enforcer it will be Schindlers fist leading the way.

Puget vs Seattle- So a month into the season the Totems finally get a home game and they will be ready. Puget has no punch up front, no toughness and just as they thought they were all that before they played Eugene they will get a BIG dose of reality this weekend. Totems

River vs Eugene- This matchup begs the question of good coaching and mediocre players vs garbage coaching with a talented lineup. Please refer back to the playoffs last season. "Your Eugene Generals" will win a few but will be big time chokers in the end once again but tonite it's Eugene.

Tri vs RV- Tri gets revenge

Sunday
Butte vs Missoula- Yawn, Miss wins again. Why even play

PS vs Totems- The angry little man on the bench for the Tommies is at it again being kicked out of 2 of the first 8 games. None of his top guys returned from last season, hmmmmmm..... I wonder why. Totems finish them off. BTW- I heard that Kale Barr is back in the lineup after his summer stint in MMA. OH MY!!!!! I can't wait til the Bath House Boys play them, I might have to make the trek to SeaTown for that beatdown!!!

Shooter, you always have interesting comments. I was particularly interested in the Missoula ones, this time. Happen to agree with you. I have low regard for people who sell God for a living but operates on a 'do as I say, not as I do" basis. I have seen it in action re: Missoula.

My name is Michael Burks, President and co-owner of the Missoula Maulers. My physical address is 2901 Brooks Street, Missoula MT 59801. My contact email address is mburks@missoulamaulers.com. My phone # is 406-541-7500. Notice I am not hiding behind a chat room name so that my identity and accountability are non-existent. For 2 years now, I have been humored by the inane and mind numbing things that have been said about me, the Missoula Maulers organization and my partner, Cory Miller. We have been accused of breaking pretty much every NORPAC rule, yet never been approached by any commissioner or been fined even $1.00 throughout 2 seasons. In this post, a couple of things have been brought up that have instigated this reply. First off, yes my partner owns a janitorial company in Missoula and employs a couple of players so that they can earn money to pay for their billet families. I don't recall seeing anything in the NORPAC rule book that says that is against any violation of policy. If I am missing that page, please send it to me immediately so we can remedy the situation. Shooter, you also comment that you "can't wait until the audits begin". Here is a fact for you... I was the person that proposed that the audits start to take place immediately at this years AGM in Helena. So, when Missoula's name is "randomly" drawn to be audited, I hope that you can attend and assist so we make sure that we are complying 100% to NORPAC's payment guidelines. And now, for your most mind boggling comment..."The bible thumping Maulers will lose to Billings. Question fer ya; If you hide behind god how can you be such a jackass in the stands in other peoples barns. Get off your soapbox and realize that you are not all that". I honestly can say that I have no idea what you are talking about. Through deduction, I am assuming that you are talking about my recent visit to Helena (I have only gone to one away game this year). I went to Helena with my 5 year old son and wife and met my business partner, Craig Vukasin and his wife, both Helena residents. I sat with at least 8 people that came in from Missoula that night and every one of them will tell you that absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened that night. In fact, I later found out that pretty much every time there was a stoppage of play or intermission, our camera man had the camera focused on our section. I don't know who your source is for all your posts, but he or she needs to really find a life and start concentrating on something more meaningful in life. And finally.... You bring the God card out... How original and typical.... Shooter, I believe in Christ, I believe that HE died on the cross to save me of my sins. I am not perfect and never portray to be perfect. If you want to start dissecting my personal life, I would ask that you actually get to know me instead of hiding behind your laptop. You have my number, you have my email address, you have my physical address. Anytime that you would like to man up and actually meet the person that you constantly tear down, I would be more than happy to meet with you. Until that day happens, I would appreciate that you act responsibly before you post innuendo and empty accusations.

Sincerely,
Michael Burks
President
Missoula Maulers

Good for you Mr. Mauler. We all know that shooter is just a bitter young man constantly hypocritical about other organizations not charging players full price to play. Also we know that his organization has always let players play without paying league fee's as well. In fact last season players on that team told me directly that the reason the team had to cram in vans and even have players drive themselves to road trips was because very few of the players were paying to play.

Shooters posts are always entertaining, we can all agree on that. However he does need to keep the hypocritical comments to a minimum in my opinion. Hope no ones feelings are hurt too bad.

Now you have to admit that when it comes to "laying your cards on the table" nobody has done it better than Montana Fan or Mike. No hiding here, like them or not, you know exactly where he stands.
Challenge is open, got what it takes to do what he just did??

I have always been a fan of using my name on boards, it makes me think before I post. All in all this board is mild in comparison to the Dallas Hockey blogs, it can get very personal. Nice post Mike.

Ouch! Chewed out in front of everyone! Ouch!
He didn't just fire one over the bow, he scored a direct hit. Must have sunk his battle ship!

Uh oh, looks like I hit a nerve with someone!

Like I said when I posted I was looking to stir something up but you Mr. Burks are a little sensitive. Hmmmmmmmm....... Makes me wonder why? The last guys that were this sensitive about their program were a couple of guys in Ft. Vancouver and we all know what they were all about.....

Direct hit Max??? I think the only direct hit once the old smoke and mirrors clears will be the one that I layed on the good ship Bawler, ooops I meant Mauler. It wasn't meant to be a direct shot but I guess it struck them just the same.

Why would you take that as a personal attack Mr. Burks unless there was some truth to it? Not that I am saying there is or there isn't, only youuuuuuuuu know. Again, awfully sensitive. And if you really want to know I was sitting at the Horns/Bawlers game 15-20 feet to your left.

I enjoyed your diatribe about the cameras being pointed on you, maybe they were pointed at me. I guess not though as I must not be some self centered, grandiose, superstar in my own mind team owner.

I guess the Bawler strategy is "The best offense is a good defence". Somewhat like the butt whoopin that Adamo and Butte put on you guys the other night. Maybe instead of worrying about what folks are saying you should be focused on finding a shooter or two. 15 deep and no goals???? 83 shots and only 1 goal??? Oh my!!! What do you guys do in practice?

Ho hum...... About time we got some fire brewing on here.....

Oh Michael, glad you came out of the closet. Not that most of us didn't already know who Montana Hockey Fan was but don't go banging the "This is who I am drum" please. I have been posting as myself since December 2001 on these chats and others. In fact until Sr Love jumped on Mike Butters and myself have been the ONLY ones that have ever pumped out our real names on here so settle the @#$@^%$ down already. So as my favorite comedian always says;

"WELL GOOD FOR YOU"!!!!!!!

I do have one pressing question though and no offence intended but it seems like you didn't get rattled until NewFan put up his post and you didn't rattle your sabre at him? I do know that his son played for you so he CAN speak from experience.

Enough from me. You do know how to get ahold of me so fire away but think before you speak.

I guess I am a little confused as to what this all has to do with hockey. It would appear that the Missoula Owner went to an away game, and cheered on his team, wouldn't this be what he is expected to do?
I regards to religon, unless he is mandating bible study for his players, it would seem that this too is a non issue. I have been to games in Helena, Butte and Missoula, and the game day promotions and how the games are presented in Missoula are by far the best, maybe this is why they draw more fans than anywhere else.
But like I said before I am not sure what this has to do with hockey. Seemingly there are people on the board with axes to grind. I do hope whatever people feelings towards team owners don't influence their actions towards players as it doesn't quite seem right to take out ones frustrations on a 17 to 20 year old kid.
About all I can say is if you don't like the way an owner opperates man up and buy a franchise, and put your money at risk like they do every season. Iknow I will never be abel to afford to own a Junior team, I wish I could, but its not gonna happen. Without owners risking their money, the NorPac or WSHL wouldn't exist, which would mean a loss of a lot of entertaining hockey, as well as a lot of kids not playing hockey. Which after all isn't that the point?
Like I said earlier, I guess I am just confused.

Ladies and Gents,

I'll get right to the point. The assumptions and claims made in this thread are incorrect. Further, the events surrounding this incident have done the following:

1. **** off my largest sponsor.
2. Upset the season ticket holders sitting in the area that the event occurred.

How do I know? Simple. I have 2 letters and 4 emails from 6 individuals that say so. I have reports from my security staff that say so. I have a call from our Hockey Opps manager that says so. I am not guessing what happened. I am not saying I know what happened. I am saying I know that what these individuals claim happened, all match up.

For the sake of individuals involved, I will not go into details in this public forum. What's done is done and I am optimistic and hopeful it will not happen again.

The reason I felt a response was needed on this issue was not to call out the individuals involved. It is to remind the people who weren't there or have no first hand information to go on to just leave it alone. Assumptions like this just never go anywhere good.

Folks, if you weren't there or don't have proof, don't throw it out there that you know what happened. Why even put it out there what you think happened. Save your speculations for the week's predictions. After all, isn't that the topic of this thread anyways?

Well put Butts. I think that we should all read this thread and think about all of the fun and emotion that this brought forth. I love it, makes for some good reading. Especially when it gets under someones skin.

Oh my, how bored am I???? Oh shooter, do it again. Pleeeeeeease?????

I just can't let this one go. Does anyone else find it strange that since the Missoula owner so humbly and graciously blessed us with his presense, he has failed to post again. I went back and reread his old posts. All these posts did was raise more questions as to why he hid behind the phony name. My guess is we will see a new chatter with a Missoula slant....with a cryptic name.

I know, I know. I need to let this one go. But when something talks like a duck and walks like a duck.....
