Helena has 1st locked. YESSSS
Yellowstone is in 2nd, with 4 games to play. Their toughest is Missoula at home. It is a must win for Missoula if they are to move into second. Missoula is in 3rd, - 6 games to go, with Yellowstone on the road and Helena at home. If they win all 6, they are in second with 72 points. If they win 5 with a Helena loss and a Yellowstone win, they will have 70 points and Yellow will have 68 max, so they take over 2nd. If they win 5, beat Helena and lose to Yellow, Yellow can max out at 70 points, and Miss will also have 70 points. In their season so far, M has one 3 of 5 at home and 1 of 3 in Cody, so they are 4-4 for the season. Now if we presume that they will both win their remaining games against Billings, Bozeman, and Butte, the Miss VS Yellow game will determine the home ice advantage – regardless of Miss losing to Helena at home, because Miss will have a 5-4 season advantage. Why is this important – well Miss and Yellow will meet in the playoffs, whatever happens. The home team will win the series 3-2. HOME TEAM --YESSSS – but over estimated Missoula - again
As for 4th, Bozeman has a mathematical chance to catch Billings. But the Bulls have 5 games to go –all against Miss, Hel, Yellow – so they will do their part and lose out, opening the door for Bozeman. YESSSS Now Bozeman has 4 games to go. If they win them all and Billings holds up their end by losing them all, Bozeman takes over 4th, 40 points to 38. The problem: 1 game at Helena, One game at Missoula, A visit from Missoula, and one by Butte. Bozeman may actually win 2. LOST TO BUTTE AND THEN BEAT MISSOULA???? That doesn’t do them any good. Billings has a lock. YESSSS
The home winner of the last season tilt between Yellow and Miss (My pick- the Quake – NOOO - who knew??????, but it was Miss’s last win, finishing the regular season with 3 straight losses followed by a 3-and-out in the playoffs.) will win their playoff series and go on to lose to Helena 3-2. YESSSS on Helena and YESSSS on 3 GAMES TO 2.
Out west, everyone still has 5 games to play. Seattle leads by 4 points over Eugene. They will go to Bremerton for 3, winning at least 2. Then they come home for 2 against Tri-Cities, where they win 2 more. – All over – Eugene can’t catch them because this gets Seattle 78 points and 76 is all the Generals can get if they win out. Seattle in 1st -- YESSSS
Eugene – 2nd YESSSS
Tri-City 3rd - can’t be caught and can’t catch Eugene. YESSSS
4th is a battle between Puget and RC. With the Tommies currently up by 2 points. They play host to Seattle for 3, then go down to River City for 2. River City, on the other hand, plays it out at home, with Tri-City, Rogue for 2, and Puget for 2. This is a tough call – RC could win all 5. They could also lose all 5. The odds are that RC can win enough - given the Tommies tougher schedule - to take over 4th. YESSSS
It really doesn’t matter, though – Tommies or Jags – Seattle takes them out in 3 come the playoffs. YESSSS – but it took 4
Eugene will probably need 4 to prevail over Tri. YESSSS EUGENE, and YESSS, it took 4
Seattle will again face Eugene in the divisional finals, and will win in 4. YESSSS- but it only took 3 close ones.
Based upon the Norpac Showcase, the finals will then be Helena 3 – Seattle 0. YESSSS
Would anyone like next year’s results from the far-seeing and all knowing SWAMI, the MAGNIFICENT?
Seriously, though, does anyone have the URL for Natties? Swami cannot see electronically --
