Lets remember the #6 team last year at nationals beat the #3 ranked team , New jersey Hitman..eventhough that team was ranked towards the bottom. Rankings mean nothing when you get to nationals. Its a whole new game!

I'm not sure what your trying to say. Last year, New Jersey was ranked #1, they lost to the #2 Monarchs team in the National Championship Game.

Just an update on the ranked teams from NorPac.
Seattle, Yellowstone, Helena, and River City are those left standing after the semi-finals in the playoffs. All except Seattle had 3-game sweeps of their opponents. Seattle had 1 6-point shoutout, but lost 1 and had 2 go to OT to get their 3 wins against the Puget Sound Tomahawks.
River City used the broom on Eugene, much to everyone's surprise.

Seattle Totems sweep River City Jaguars to win NorPac Pacific Division.

Helena Bighorns sweep Yellowstone Quake to win NorPac America West Division.

Seattle and Helena both advance to Nationals and will start best of 5 series for Cascade Cup next week.

With the 2nd half of the season in full swing, ranking for the "fun" (yeah right)of it could happen.
Mr Check, care to set it up?

That would be impossible for me to do. Admin won't even let me PM. I'm just here to entertain from time to time.

Another example why people are smarter than computers. How the EJ teams were ranked below St. Louis is ridiculous. EJ is in a class by themselves at T3Jr. A. My Rankers were not perfect, but at least they understood this.

Although I do agree that the computer rankings are wrong, and do not necessarilly show the different coaching decisions, style of play, and other factors that can show games closer than scores do, however, I will say this after being at the EJ Showcase that featured several EJ/AJ matchups.

This year will likely see the first EJ loss to a non-EJ team in the National tournament. And I will bet St. Louis or another CSHL team does it. The EJ showed its vulnerabilities against some of the AJ teams.

Anyone know the nationals bracket breakdowns at A and B level?

This is the 1st time in how many years that we've NOT seen the WSHL Polar Bears in this lineup?
WSHL Monsters are looking really good for a rookie team.

This poll is laughable, last week, St. Louis was ranked #1, this week they won two games and fell to #10. Obviously not a consistent or reliable poll. Although, the rankings look more realistic this week, who knows what the programer will do to change it for next week.

xcheck and others you know unless it is professionally done by some org like USCHO (might have initials wrong) then it is all just for fun. If parents want to look at the other type of rankers and brag about their kids let them. I believe the rankings done by and on this site over the years have been decent. Especially when you consider we are only going by stats, with our gut feeling and yes personal preferences and not knowing day to day specifics. Hey how come I wasn't asked to participate. :0) Don't like me anymore. PS You need to smile and laugh more.

Xcheck was right about the EJ teams being the top ranked teams. So any rankings that don't respect them being high on the list is just plain invalid. SP I'll buy him a battery back-up pack.

Just reading this for the first time since February, it looks lie you sir deserve a prize! Nice predict, even down to the team that would pull of the upset.
