Confusing: First you post this: quote: Originally posted by Davey Crocket: There may be a "new" Dubuque in the CSHL. I have it on pretty good authority that many of last year's Dubuque players want to stay together and are planning on playing together on a certain team that encourages the old "Dubuque style" of play.
Then you say this: quote: Originally posted by Davey Crocket: Wow! That's a little bit of a harsh reply to a first time user. I guess I should have been a little more specific. When I meant a new Dubuque, I was not referring to a team that will be at the same level within the league that DBQ was. I was simply saying that there's going to be a team with multiple former DBQ players that's going to play an in your face, aggressive, physical, DBQ style of hockey. Put a different way, there is going to be a new team that everyone loves to hate. No more, no less. Relax.
So what exactly are you saying? First you say these guys are going to play in the CSHL, then you say they won't. As far as a current team in the CSHL that would pick up the leftovers from Dubuque, I would love to see that. But unfortunately that is an impossibility with most of those moving to higher Juniors or college and the rest being drafted by different teams in the dispersal draft I imagine. Plus, it would never be the same ole Dubuque without the aid of their home ice advantage. Dubuque was a dominating 23-1 at home and a pedestrian 15-8-0-1 on the road (5th best in the CSHL). They also won only 1 game at the Hurster Cup without their home ice advantage. -------------------- Don't take yourself so seriously, no one else does.

If the players want to stick together I wish them well though they most likely would have to leave the CSHL to do so like WSHL or the MNJHL. Interesting stuff. This almost happen with a group from the NOJHL Soo Eagles going to the WSHL. The problem with that was the Chemistry in mid-season didn't work. The vets didn't like that 3-4 or them would be replaced or sitting if it occurred. That group went home last season and I haven't heard much since...So long story short it could happen again and might even work if done from the beginning of the season....Also I do not like the name calling on this site especially in the CSHL forum. Xchecks handle is that and not lipjack. Oh how are the cubs doing? My Tigers are doing well :0) if I could only get rid of that other Chicago team.lol
Brother, if name calling hurt my feelings, just how good of a Cub fan would I be? My Cubs are searching right now for the correct way to say "wait til next year......" -------------------- Don't take yourself so seriously, no one else does.
