Does anyone know why USA hockey decided to deny the Mustangs and Duluth's bid to join the SIJHL? Or where the Mustangs will play this season? Or what will happen to the SIJHL now that they are down to four teams (K&A Wolverines folded)

americanjuniorhockey.com is reporting that an appeal by both Spooner and Duluth to USA Hockey has been successful and both will play in the SIJHL this year. What Butch wants Butch gets apparently. Anyone nervous at the MJ yet? At least two other teams are interested in following suit a year from now.

There is no way that two more teams from the MNJHL would play in that other league.

If the MJHL would lose a team to another league, would not that put them below the required 8 teams needed to maintain Junior A Tier III status? And then what happens?

They could easily find a new expansion team. Haven't you been paying attention. Junior teams grow on trees now

But isn't it getting a little late to find a new team? The SIJHL have already posted two U.S. teams to play in their league. One from Duluth and the Mustangs. The Mustangs wil be called the Minnesota Wilderness.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. I knew Duluth was never in the MJHL. I meant that they along with the Mustangs are going to the SIJHL. I clicked on the Minnesota Wilderness button on the SIJHL web site and up popped the Rochester Mustangs 2009-2010 web site. I just guessed that the Mustangs moved to Spooner and are now in the SIJHL. If that's true, does Rochester have a team to replace them or are they going to play in both leagues, or what? Just trying to figure it out.
